When you go shopping for dining rooms you will always find them in sets which are complete, matching table and chairs, but what if you don’t buy the whole set? what if you want to get more creative? Below are a few tips to help you achieve that!
if we use a bit of your creativity you can easily create a beautiful dining set from different items. you could always use different styles of chairs around your dining table, if you create a link using a single color scheme, or upholstery fabric on all of them. If you have four different chairs, you can start by tying identical seat cushions on them, or stenciling the same motif on the back of each, which will make them look like a set, even if they are all different to begin with.
Common textures and colors can also make your furniture look like a set even if you buy them in different shapes or from different stores especially if they are made of wood like bamboo.
Working with patterns can be very interesting and easy. use the theme of the pattern in at least one item of art on the wall. For example if your furniture has a floral design, use a photo of a flower in that color pallet framed to accent the wall and tie the decor together. If the material is of a solid color, use that color in a picture or in a picture frame, on the wall.
A dining room with a dark red fabric theme could have a photo of an antique car the same color, or a black and white photo with the frame painted in the same dark red hue. You can easily create a matching dining room set, just by covering everything with the same material, and adding a few carefully chosen accessories. You can also be more creative with colors for example if you have a blue fabric then hanging rows of blue glass ornaments in the dining room window, and placing blue glass bottles in the china cabinet display would definitely look amazing.
Finally, if your furniture is hopelessly mismatched, paint the legs all the same color, and then cover the chairs with slip covers that completely hide the chair, cover the table with a long draping table cloth, and cover the surface of the china cabinet with a runner.
